Wow!  Now I feel like I am on a roll!  Before when I searched for "mobile learning," I got very general explanations of mobile learning, pros and cons, and suggested uses, though helpful, did not address the literature review presentation assignment. But when I made the search specific - specific learner, specific mobile device, I hit the mother-load!  For example:

Mcclanahan, B., Williams, K., Kennedy, E., & Tate, S. (2012). A breakthrough for josh: How use of an iPad facilitated reading improvement. TechTrends, 56(3), 20-28. doi:10.1007/s11528-012-0572-6

I have found many articles and am now really on the right track.  Best of luck to everyone.

Blogs are very addictive! I loved the video about the young boy with his robot that goes to school for him.  That was very touching but powerful.  Technology gives people a voice. I am definitely showing that video at our preplanning time.  I can't wait to share everything I have learned. Thank you all.

If anyone likes cooking shows, please watch my daughter on Chopped. Her name is Suzanne Vizethann and the episode is called Ladies First. Below are the air times in August.  Take care.

Hi,
I had trouble posting on Friday due to some glitch with my computer not supporting the browser.  Anyway, my home computer works a bit better.  Lots of time for reflection.  I have learned so much from the class and all the presentations.  I need to revise and add to my part of the research on mobile learning.  It is so new and evolving by the minute!  It is exciting.  I am going to practice this week all the technologies we have learned in EDUC 730.  I appreciate that Dr. Holder has posted all that we covered. I wish Dr. Holder would come down and do professional development sessions for my school.  I am going to mention it to my principal.  We need to be able to integrate with our curriculum and not just stick it in a lesson.  I am trying to get my head around it all.  I liked reading about the technology but also how other educators are using the technology in their classrooms.  I read a study where they used mobile phones to teach vocabulary and how the students did learn more that way, but not in the long run for retention.  The best method reported was the combination of pencil/paper and the mobile phone use.  Also, the students using online courses from all over the globe needed teacher support.  That is good to know that students still need their teachers!  That study addressed gifted students and how the isolation can be a problem for them.  More to read and discover.  I find that the colleges and universities are definitely more cutting edge than K-12 in their use and integration of technology. I can't wait to practice what I have learned.  Thanks to everyone. I really enjoyed meeting all of you and experiencing all the great presentations and technologies.
